The Tenorio and Miravalles Volcano area is located in northern highlands along Guanacaste's eastern border with the Alajuela Province. With many rivers, waterfalls, dense dry tropical forests, rainforests, and primary cloud forests, the area hosts an abundance of wildlife, and it is an excellent location for a combination of exploration and relaxation. This is a beautiful location, to just get away and relax.

One of Costa Rica's most notable natural features is the Arenal Volcano. Although the volcano entered into a resting phase in 2010 – meaning that its eruptions have paused – it is still a stunning sight. Rising above the rainforest that surrounds its base, Arenal frames the skyline with near perfect symmetry. The immediate area hosts a wealth of activities – including whitewater rafting, waterfall rappelling, hiking and canopy tours – as well as the friendly town of La Fortuna.

The splendid gardens of La Paz are located on the slopes of the Poas volcano, Costa Rica. Located about an hour from San Jose, in the central highlands. This area is rich in bio diversity thanks to an altitude of that varies between 4,000 and 5,000 feet, allowing for both cloud forest and rain forest to co-exist. Be prepared for a truly magical experience. Here, visitors will find the largest butterfly observatory in the world, hummingbird and bromeliad gardens, a serpentarium, frog pond, and 5 striking waterfalls.

During the United States’ winter, Costa Rica experiences some of its best weather of the yearjust in time for the Christmas holidays. The rainy season is officially over in most of the country, and the climate is cooler and less muggy.
The coolest months of the year are November, December and January. Costa Rica's average annual temperature is around 21 to 27 degrees Celsius or 70 to 81 degrees Fahrenheit. The weather is perfect all year, except when it rains. But is considered a Rain Forest. The rain does bring down the temperature. But it doesn't drop below 60 degrees.

The low season, or winter in Costa Rica has been dubbed the “Green Season” by the tourism industry because that makes a better first impression than "rainy".
