“We both have cured ourselves of debilitating diseases through raw food diet and lifestyle changes,” says Jody, who was on crutches five years ago due to ever-worsening juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. “We wanted to create a place that was very affordable for everyone to experience and learn what they can to do to create better health, whether they have health issues or simply want a more vibrant, enjoyable life.”
Brian adds, “My healing experience from fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue was helped by attending an expensive raw food retreat in an American city. During our honeymoon in Costa Rica, I realized how special it would be to offer an affordable option for anyone who chooses to explore this healing, raw food lifestyle where one can be immersed in the peace and serenity of nature with clean air, mountain streams, organic farm fresh produce, and a loving vibe. “When people first arrive, we ask them ‘What is your intention?’ We want people to own their experience as much as possible and then leave with a toolbox that they can use. We role model the lifestyle that we teach our guests. While cooked food is available, we teach guests how to prepare delicious raw foods that retain all the nutrients nature intended, and provide counseling to help guests integrate a new way of living fully in mind, body and spirit. We also have daily yoga classes, meditations, and walks to neighboring organic farms that may include visits to neighbors who are living completely off the grid.
